The Bamboo Grove I was fascinated by this spot - I'd have spent a lot more time shooting here, but it was packed. Oh well, still beautiful, I just didn't do a great job of capturing it. If I'd have had two more days, there are two places I would have been at at the break of dawn, this is one of those spots. Next time.

Shinnyodo TempleTucked away on top of Yoshida-yama Hill, this temple was a challenge to find...but so worth the climb and trouble to do so. The structure is massive, the grounds so quiet. A bit out of the way, it doesn't attract the crowds the other temples and shrines do. I spent a couple of hours up here. This temple was established in the year 948! It was destroyed in the years of 1467-77 and rebuilt in 1693. It's old and just beautiful.
